Dr. Ayoub Dakson

Dr. Ayoub Dakson is a distinguished neurosurgeon and spine specialist, currently holding dual appointments as an Assistant Professor at Kuwait University and as a Specialist Neurosurgeon at Kuwait Hospital, where he specializes in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery.

Dr. Dakson’s academic journey is marked by excellence, beginning with a Bachelor in Medical Science with first-class honors from the University of St Andrews. He went on to earn his MBChB from the University of Manchester in 2011, where he also completed a Master’s in Research in Neurodegeneration.

He pursued his neurosurgery residency at Dalhousie University, Canada, from 2012 to 2018, followed by a prestigious fellowship in Complex Spine Surgery at the same institution. This comprehensive training equipped him with advanced expertise in both traditional and innovative surgical techniques.

He worked in the department of neurosugery at Ibn Sina Hospital from 2020 until 2022. From November 2022 to October 2023, Dr. Dakson served as the Head of Neurosurgery at Jaber Al Ahmad Hospital at the Ministry of Health, where he was instrumental in establishing the hospital’s neurosurgery and spine surgery services. In October 2023, he joined the Department of Neurosurgery at Taiba Hospital, where he continued his exceptional work until March 2024 before transitioning to Kuwait Hospital.

Dr. Dakson specializes in treating a wide range of spine conditions, including spinal stenosis, disc herniation, spinal cord compression, spine fractures, and spinal tumors, as well as neurosurgical conditions such as intracranial hemorrhage, head trauma, intracranial tumors, and hydrocephalus.

With a dedication to advancing the field through innovation, teaching, and patient-centered care, Dr. Dakson employs minimally invasive techniques to achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients while contributing to the progress of neurosurgery and spine surgery in Kuwait.
