At Kuwait Hospital, Cardiology Department (more of cardiac center) provide expert and professional services for a wide range of heart diseases and conditions. The department is well equipped with latest technology, including latest version of cardiac CT scanner (256 Apex CT scanner), Cardiac MRI, advanced Catheterization laboratory that has a wide range of tools and equipment. More importantly, the department is operated by well trained and qualified cardiologists who completed their training in different domains in top North American cardiac centers or European centers. This has enabled us thus far to manage all range of cases from simple cases to very complex ones, including cases that get transferred from other hospitals/ sectors directly to our critical care unit. The range of services include diagnostic, medical therapeutic services and minimally invasive services (interventional cardiology procedure (elective and emergency basis)).  

Our services include management in coronary heart diseases (related to heart blood vessels and cardiovascular disorders), valvular and structural heart diseases (related to all valve disordersincluding very advanced cases, congenital heart diseases and electrophysiological disorders (related to the electrical disturbances in the heart).

Clinical range of services

General Cardiology: 

  • Outpatient based services including clinic availability and expertise advice on wide range of cardiac conditions . This include echocardiograms and exercise treadmill testing. 
  • Inpatient services including regular cardiac floor for simple admission all the way to Coronary Critical care Unit (CCU) for management of conditions such as coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease and heart failure.Our services are patient centered and is delivered by multidisciplinary means. 
  • Advanced Cardiac imaging including: 
  • Transthoracic and Transesophageal echocardiogram including 3D and 4D tools with the latest version of echocardiogram. 
  • All our studies are reviewed and interpreted by board certified experts. 
  • Cardiac CT  and Cardiac MRI scans 
  • All our studies are reviewed and interpreted by North American trained and qualified cardiologist. 

Interventional cardiology: 

  • Coronary intervention with wide range of services including acute coverage around the clock 24/7 for emergency cases 
  • Advanced tools to provide long lasting results and outcomes including intravascular imaging and intracoronary physiology 
  • Expertise to provide coronary intervention for simple and advanced complex coronary diseases 
  • Availability of left heart support tools should patients need them for safety measures 
  • Advanced valvular and structural interventions to be launched in the near future 
  • Ability to do invasive physiological assessment for valvular and myocardial diseases as well as pulmonary hypertension. 

Electrophysiology Cardiology: 

  • EP services starts with outpatient clinic thrice weekly which provides expertise advice and management of wide range of electrophysiological issues including atrial rhythm issues, ventricular arrhythmias and management of implantable cardiac devices such as pacemaker and defibrillators. 
  • Providing non invasive comprehensive EP studies like Holter studies and implantable loop recorders. 
  • EP interventional procedure including pacemaker insertion, ICD insertion and EP studies needed to make diagnostic impact in challenging cases.
