Pediatrics & Neonatology Gastroenterology

Compassionate care for your child’s digestive system

Caring for the digestive system of babies and young children requires specialized knowledge and experience. At Kuwait Hospital, our Pediatric and Neonatology Department has a dedicated Gastro-enterology unit that focuses on the health and wellbeing of the digestive system and gastro-intestinal tract; organs such as the liver, stomach and pancreas; and the nutritional requirements of newborns and young children.

We understand your concern as a parent, and we are with you and your child every step of the way to make your child’s visit to the hospital pleasant, pain-free, stress-free and comfortable. From diagnostics to treatment, our gastroenterologists provide comprehensive follow-up support and the best possible care for your child.

The Kuwait Hospital Difference

Backed by our holistic healthcare philosophy, our doctors work closely with our multi-disciplinary team of pediatricians, nutritionists and counsellors to create a personalized and customized roadmap for young children.

As children’s bodies are constantly growing, we educate parents on the nutritional needs of children and how to develop healthy eating habits.

We house the latest technology for diagnosis of digestive tract conditions including endoscopies, colonoscopies and routine tests.

What is Pediatrics & Neonatology, and how is it related to Gastroenterology?

Pediatrics is a specialized branch of medicine focusing on the health, wellbeing and medical care of children – from infants and toddlers to teenagers and adolescents till the age of 18. A pediatrician will care for most of children’s healthcare needs, however a neonatologist specializes in medical care of premature babies or newborn children.

Neonatology is a sub-speciality of pediatrics. A gastro-enterologist in the pediatric and neonatal field of medicine focuses on the health and wellbeing of the digestive system, liver and intestines of preemies, newborns and kids.
